The Views are Different Here Campaign by Tourism Toronto

The campaign greatly exceeded its objectives to differentiate Toronto from other metropolitan cities, elevate the 'Canada's Downtown' brand, generate a considerable number of views and impressions and build impassioned ambassadors.

Our message trended nationally and the campaign surpassed all KPI's receiving 43M views and 112M impressions. The VTR on YouTube was 39%, exceeding industry benchmarks of 10-12% and on additional platforms the videos had a VTR of 21%; also well above industry benchmarks. The content had proven to be compelling and our local and international audience alike were telling us so.

The 'Views' campaign is an award winning entry because it uniquely showcased Toronto as an exciting destination for both the things you can see here but also for how Torontonians see the world. The campaign did this while bringing a swagger and confidence to our marketing that too often is missing from a Canadian campaign.

Additionally, we have seen several competitors follow suit with similar efforts sharing unmistakable resemblances. This is by far Tourism Toronto's strongest campaign ever and we have seen the results! In 2017, overall visitation to Toronto increased by 3.6% and visitation from the USA specifically increased by 4.8% resulting in a record best 43.7M visitors.
